Violin Star Series

Violin Star is a three-book series offering beginner violinists a refreshing and inspirational choice of pieces to help build confidence and musical skills. The repertoire is imaginatively tailored to develop specific techniques through an exciting range of musical styles.

This Student's book contains the solo violin parts, along with colourful illustrations, activities and a playalong CD. The Accompaniment book, available separately, includes piano and violin accompaniments for every piece.

Violin Suzuki Method

More than fifty years ago, Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki realized the implications of the fact that children over the world learn to speak their native language with ease. He began to apply the basic principles of language acquisition to the learning of music, and called his method the mother-tongue approach. The ideas of parent responsibility, loving encouragement, constant repetition, etc., are some of the special features of the Suzuki approach.

Barbara Barber Series

Solos For Young Violinists is a 6 volume series with companion CDs featuring more 50 pieces for violin and piano. Many of the works in this collection have long been recognized as stepping stones to the major violin repertoire, while others are newly published pieces which offer further choices for study; most are recorded in this series for the very first time. Compiled, edited and recorded by violinist Barbara Barber, Solos For Young Violinists is a graded series of works ranging from elementary to advanced levels and represents an exciting variety of styles and techniques for violinists. The collection has become a valuable resource for teachers and students of all ages. The piano track recorded on the second half of each recording gives the violinist the opportunity to practice with accompaniments.
